我已經多次接到後面這則轉寄信件息
關於一座北極圈內的丹麥小島居民獵捕鯨豚
也上網google了相關正反面資訊
我想，作為原運的參與者
我們恐怕會有不同的思考角度
鑑於這封信可能已經非常廣泛被傳遞
我想我們應該也有話要說
這的確是令人心驚的畫面
我也認為相當殘忍
-----應當和我們所食用的一切動物被殺時同樣殘忍
但如果這是一個超過幾百年的文化傳統
我們就可能有必要進一步瞭解其背後的文化與生態關聯
我查到的資料中有提到此一已成為傳統的幾乎是儀式性的定期獵捕
嚴謹地維持不超過所需數量，並不為了出售而大量獵殺
因此事實上並未影響到此種海豚的族群數（根據學術機構調查）
這個北極圈海島貧瘠而缺乏食物
從古早以來人民在固定季節時間（而非經常性）
集體獵捕身上已經累積充足脂肪並迴游至其近海的海豚
並由全體社區居民共同充分享利用每一份資源（而非商業性獵捕）
-----幾乎沒有廢棄海豚身上的任何一部份
他們藉以度過黑暗漫長而無食物的冬季
這也許有點像圖博（西藏）高原上的佛教徒仍必須依靠吃草的動物的肉、毛皮而生存
我相信他們和圖博人一樣感謝為他們的基本生存而犧牲的動物
只要適度規範這類傳統性獵捕
我相信可以做到生態平衡
類似的例子在世上許多地方存在
如西雅圖附近海灣的印地安人的年度補鯨
就和這海島的情況非常類似
這些原住民族自古以來以此方式利用資源
並未造成生態失衡
全球真正造成鯨豚類族群危機的
是許多原來未食用鯨豚的人開始食用商業獵捕的鯨豚
和因為海洋污染、開發而造成的棲地破壞
回過頭來檢討，我們是不是經常享用了超過需要的動物肉？
我們是不是浪費了這些為我們犧牲的動物身上許多部分
以致必須更多的屠殺才能供應我們之所需？
我期待這個海島的居民重新檢討他的傳統在現代的維繫方式
但在我們下判斷之前
也許有其他思考空間

前幾天，剛從報紙上剪下一則新聞，說是世界上最幸福的五個國家排名丹麥、芬蘭、挪威、荷蘭等，丹麥排在首位！若這種幸福是建立在如此令人震驚的行為上，實在是一點人性都沒有了！ 這就是我在昨天收的一封郵件，打開後我很震驚，對於那觸目驚心的紅！像是有種東西直擊心靈
我忽然就想起，在Michael的那首《Earth song》的MV�，那些被鐵網套住的海豚和棍棒敲擊海豹的畫面。 在此，我想引用作者Sandra Sasvari在《邁克爾 ．傑克遜和人性》�的一段話：
馬丁 ．路德金說過：“歷史將記取的社會轉變的最大悲劇不是壞人的喧囂，而是好人的沉默。” 我們絕不要沉默。
盲目的順從和怯懦的精神是惡霸存在的原因，極端的說，是屠殺發生的原因，也是邁克爾·傑克遜逝去的原因。
我們都有掠食者的本性，我們都可能為了自我欲望而促成獵殺弱小——只有一些人努力去控制它。
