How to make a unique lamp? The answer of Transparent House might be: Use laser cut plexiglass and one hundred translucent micro-cassettes!
Tape lamp is a table lamp made of translucent and colored tapes. The small lamp is made of answering machine tapes and the large model is built from compact cassettes in different shades.
The lamp is completely hand-assembled in San Francisco. Transparent House tried create a truly minimalistic object and use two main materials for the lamp – laser cut plexiglass and one hundred micro-cassettes. The bulb type used for the lamp is 40 watt Vida Large G-16.5 Globe. The lamp is UL certified.
It looks like a really good idea to make one as a special gift. I am not sure how difficult it will be. But if you want to buy one, it will cost you $1,200 + $35 for shipping. Quite impressive price? Anyway, if you do want to make that order, check this etsy page.
